Forest School/Farm Area
HSBC Volunteers, sunshine, chicken burgers and a lot of hard work!
We had a visit last week from some volunteers from HSBC who came along to help us restore our Forest School/Farm area. This is an area of land on our site that houses a huge barn, space for a polytunnel, vegetable garden and some small farm animals. We are very keen to develop this space to give our pupils access to land based learning opportunities so were very grateful for the help!
Our staff, pupils and the HSBC volunteers worked incredibly hard to clear the overgrown weeds, lay the foundation for some raised flower beds and even paint a bespoke design on our bug hotel.
The volunteers were rewarded with a home cooked lunch from our food technology pupils which was very welcome! The sun was shining for us, and it was a very successful and productive day.
There is still a lot of work to do to get this area up and running but this has been a great start to the project.
Staff and pupils at Venture would like to say a massive THANK YOU to the HSBC crew.
