Before Starting at venture academy, I had worked for National Grid and Warwickshire County Council and had also worked with looked after children. I have a family member who works at one of Macintyre’s academies and they find their work there to be both fulfilling and exciting, so when a job opening that matched my skills came up, I decided to go for it.

As the facilities manager at Venture, I am responsible for the safety, security and maintenance of the site as well as those who use it. It’s a varied role and things are never boring. It requires me to keep learning and improving and there is always something new to challenge myself with.

The staff at venture really embody the academies vision of compassion, ambition and partnership and they work tirelessly to achieve the best outcomes for the young people attending the school. I’m glad that I’m a part of the team, and that I can contribute to the organisations wider mission of empowering students and preparing them for life beyond school.
