I qualified as a secondary Music teacher in July 2006, a week before my daughter was born. In April 2007 I started my role as a Music teacher in a London School, my career progressed quickly and by January 2008 I was Head of Music. Later that year I gave birth to my second daughter, moved to Kent and started working at a large Academy. For the last 7 years I have been working as a Music teacher in primary schools for local authorities.
I have always had a keen interest and pull towards the pastoral side of teaching, wanting to help each child feel valued, listened to and supported as individuals. When the opportunity arose for a Compassionate Schools Coach arose at Venture, I had to apply.
I am so thankful for the career step across Venture has given me. It is a wonderful place to work, a caring, supportive inclusive community for all our students and staff alike.
Venture really is about making all students feel valued accepted and supported, in an encouraging and compassionate environment.
